This course supplements Fire Detection, Alarm, and Suppression Systems material taught at entry level for the Firefighter Candidate. The application, installation, location, performance and maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems and private fire service mains and appurtenances is taught. There are no skills objectives for this program. References include NFPA 13 Installation of Sprinkler Systems, NFPA 14 Standard for the Installation of Standpipe, Private Hydrant, and Hose Systems, NFPA 20 Standard for the Installation of Stationary Pumps for Fire Protection, and NFPA 24 Standard for the Installation of Private Fire Service Mains and Their Appurtenances.
