NFPA 25 Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems: Inspection Training and Certification 
Target Audience Building Inspectors, Facilities and Property Management, Facilities Management and Maintenance Technicians, Fire Services, Security and Inspection Services, Local Authorities having Jurisdiction (AHJ), Insurance and Loss Control Personnel.
Description This certification program is designed to provide thorough instruction on the proper care, inspection and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems. Inspection training focuses on Wet Pipe, Dry Pipe, Pre-action, Deluge, Foam-Water Sprinkler, Foam-Water Spray, Standpipe Systems and fire pumps. Precautions, procedures and limitations are taught. Materials, tools, and test equipment are provided. References include NFPA 13 Installation of Sprinkler Systems, NFPA 25 Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems, NFPA 20 Standard for the Installation of Stationary Pumps for Fire Protection, NFPA 14 Standard for the Installation of Standpipe, Private Hydrant, and Hose Systems.
Learning Outcome At the completion of this program, participants will be able to: 
1) | | Describe the minimum requirements for the periodic inspection, testing and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems including water supplies, pumps, tanks and valves. | 2) | | Describe the purpose, prerequisites and scope of this standard. | 3) | | Describe precautions, procedures and limitations to Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems. |
Course Content All course materials, tools and test equipment are provided. NFPA reference standards 13, 14, 20 and 25 are also provided.
Instructional Methods Lecture, handouts, hands on operation and performance testing of all water-based fire protection equipment in the FlashPoint Center. The burn room is used to demonstrate how water-based fire protection systems work under live fire conditions.
Assessment Methods The student will demonstrate the proper methods used for inspection, testing and maintenance of water-based systems. Question and answer interaction with the instructor. Written test.
Completion Requirement Documented attendance, written evaluation of the learning program, and achieve 70% on the written test.
